The importance of anointing

There are moments in our lives—especially as wives, mothers, homemakers, builders of households—when we feel the weight of “everything.” The tasks, the decisions, the spiritual battles, the invisible work that nobody sees but God. And in those moments we are reminded of a truth so simple, yet so powerful:

We cannot do anything without Him.

Jesus Himself declared:
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” — John 15:5

This is the foundation of anointing: connection, dependence, and abiding.
The branch does not struggle to produce fruit—the branch simply stays connected. It remains. And from that place of remaining, the fruit naturally flows.

He Is the Anointed One

Before we speak about our anointing, we must recognise His.
Jesus stood up in the synagogue, opened the scroll of Isaiah, and read:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on Me, because the LORD has anointed Me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners.” —

When we remain in him we can bear much fruit meaning that we can do all things through his strength. His anointing gives us the ability to walk in love because He heals the broken hearted, proclaims freedom for the captives and sets the prisoner free from darkness. When we abide in Him we put our trust in him to heal us, set us free and release us from the bondage of darkness.

The solution then is not to do more or to get things done, but to know Him more. Because He is the One who heals our hearts and breaks our chains so we can walk in the freedom of His love. When He restores us to walk in this anointing we are able to do all things because He strengthens us to do so.
